Steve has built a specialisation in refrigeration systems for grocery stores and remote locations, an area that demands not only technical precision but also the logistical know-how to keep critical assets running in challenging environments.

Josh is the Managing Director, bringing a genuine, hands-on understanding of the trade to every part of the business. Before stepping into leadership, Josh built his career as a qualified Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician, learning the industry from the ground up, a foundation that still shapes the way he leads today. Holding QBCC Mechanical Services qualifications and fully ticketed across his trade, Josh pairs deep technical know-how with a natural ability to lead people.
He's just as comfortable talking through the finer points of a complex install as he is setting the standard for how the team shows up on every job. Safety, quality, and doing things properly aren't just values he talks about, they're the way he works, and the example he sets for everyone around him. Under his direction, the business continues to grow while staying true to its trade roots: practical, reliable, and led by someone who's done the work himself.
Beau Lynagh is a qualified Electrician and Apprentice Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician, bringing a strong mix of trade experience to the team. He holds a slew of qualifications, certifications and years of hands-on trade experience. Originally from the Sunshine Coast, Beau now considers himself a Cairns local and brings valuable experience across commercial work, assisting on electrical jobs alongside his AC apprenticeship. Beau speaks highly of the culture at Hutchy's, describing Steve as a great boss and now a good mate. With a happy customer base and a genuinely positive team environment, Beau values the balance he's found between a rewarding career and family life.
Arrin is a qualified Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician with a Restricted Electrical Licence, bringing over 10 years of industry experience to the team. He holds QBCC Mechanical Services qualifications, along with a slew of other certifications. Arrin enjoys working at Hutchy’s Refrigeration & Electrical across a wide mix of commercial and industrial refrigeration, along with electrical and HVAC installations. The variety of the role and the challenge of working with new equipment, taking satisfaction in piecing together the mechanics of a job and seeing a repair through to a successful result.
James began his first-year electrical apprenticeship with Hutchy’s Refrigeration & Electrical. Growing up in Mossman, James brings a solid background in building and construction, having worked in laboring and carpentry before starting his trade. Passionate about becoming a qualified electrician, James enjoys the hands-on challenges the industry throws at him and thrives on problem-solving. He values being part of a strong team and credits a great boss and supportive crew for helping him build his skills and confidence as he works towards a career in the electrical trade.
Gordon is the Storeman for our busy commercial and industrial HVAC and electrical business, responsible for keeping inventory well-organised, accurately managed, and fully stocked to support the team's day-to-day operations. Gordon plays a key role in ensuring jobs run smoothly, making sure the right materials and equipment are always on hand when they're needed. He holds his White Card, a Restricted Electrical Licence for Test & Tag, and is First Aid, CPR, and LVR certified, a well-rounded skill set that reflects his commitment to safety and reliability both in the store and on site.
Zayne is a Cairns local currently in his first year as an Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician apprentice. He's built a solid foundation across construction laboring, site clean-ups, turf laying, landscaping, and working with trusses and wall frames. A graduate of Redlynch State High School, Zayne has a strong interest in the electrical side of the industry and is motivated to complete his apprenticeship.
Nathan is a school-based apprentice building his foundational knowledge across both HVAC and electrical trades. This dual exposure allows him to explore both sides of the industry before deciding on the career path that's the right fit for him. Nathan brings a positive attitude and strong work ethic to every task, and holds his White Card, allowing him to work safely on construction sites. As he progresses through his apprenticeship, Nathan is focused on developing practical skills and building the experience needed to grow into a qualified tradesperson.
Marisa brings a well-rounded skill set to our team, combining a Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety with a Certificate in Business Administration. Qualified in social media marketing and public relations, Marisa manages the integrity of our brand identity and community engagement, ensuring our messaging is clear, professional, and connects with the people we serve. Marisa's background in OH&S also gives her a strong understanding of the safety-first culture that underpins everything we do, allowing her to communicate our services with both accuracy and care.
